Alvin is a submarine that goes down 12,000 feet into the Atlantic Ocean and takes pictures. Gives scientists a new perspective. Lava comes spilling out of a rift underwater- no one had seen anything like it. Rifts cause moving and shifting amongst the plates. Sometimes this moving and shifting cause natural disasters that we have seen throughout history.
Hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanoes, etc... Tides are controlled by the sun and the moon. When the tides come up we are left with areas rich in salts and minerals. Borrax, lithium, potassium, oil- off shore wells. Under the North Sea there are rich oil reserves. Wind and waves are a good way to harvest energy.
